2004 July Crete, Chania AirModelling Club visit

As you can see Manos could hardly be inside the car hehe :-) See the little nice Cougar 2000 3D plane.

Something went wrong for Dimitris and his red trainer hit the asfalt with a BANG, but he took it nice with a smile
The thory was stall and lost control at too low altitude to gain control again.

The Cougar 2000 3D plane has 1.3 meter wing span, and 1.15 meter in length, total weight is about 1.6 kg
Radio 4-5 ch and 5 servos, will work with standard but fast digital are the best, it is possible to make it work with 4 ch rx but 5 is prefered
Engine is 0.25 to 0.46 cubic inch 2 stroke metanol, the plane ARF kit come with wheels, tank, engine fitting for 164 Euro at the Kerpini shop

Last week he won a 3D competition using his Cougar 2000, he showed total control and cool flying style !

Look at the last picture hehe.. see he moves his body to help the plane in the right direction, that was great fun.

Check out the un-traditional side rudder design, here is me flying his Cougar 2000, that was fun ! what a great plane awesome performance and easy to fly.

Here is another one of Manos's planes, a Hanger 9 Extra 330L with a 100ccm boxer gasoline engine from 3W

Total weight is 11.5kg and total cost about 3000 Euro ! I also flew that one by the way, what a dream !

it took about 15 minutes to assemble this nice and huge plane, he made extra rudders checking and range check before flight

He also said he trible checked all batteries so he feels all is ready

To start this engine with a 26x12 inch prop, he uses a wooden stick with a bike handle on it, he said this engine can cut your arm off, so always remember safety !

Hoovering with a huge and heawy plane seemed to be more easy compared to the small Cougar 2000

After landing people came by to talk and enjoy the plane from a closer range

Manos (MK shop) are 28 years old, and have 22 years of RC plane experiance !!
He owns 12 RC metanol planes, and 4 RC electric planes, and 5 RC gasoline planes, and 3 RC helicopters
